Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. Alison Doody first made a film debut as the Bond model in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Donavan played the role featured in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte played Taffin (in 1998) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody began modelling after being approached by an experienced photographer. This led to a successful professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against glamour and naked work, a rule that was extended to her acting career. Doody was offered a tiny role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after she was noticed by the casting director. Doody was named as one of the top 12 promising young Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was just 18 at the time of her first appearance in the Bond role. To date, she is the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) which starred Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody played an unseen role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading role. It took place in 1988 alongside Dawn French, John Hurt as well as Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her greatest role in the film Taffin as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser The doctor. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal she went on to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery the agent's girlfriend. Doody made her acting comeback in 2003 with a minor role in her role in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards show. She starred along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014 she starred in We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she received the Almeria the tierra de cine prize and she received an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
