Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is a famous American actress and model. As a child model she won critical acclaim for her lead role in Louis Malle’s movie Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling through her teens and starred in many dramas in the 1980s including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983, Shields ended her modeling profession to pursue a degree at Princeton University where she received an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages. Shields began acting again in the late 1990s, and appeared in minor role in movies. She also played a role in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), for which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). Shields returned to NBC in 2017 with the role of a regular Law & Order: Special Victims unit character in the show's 19th Season. Shields plays Beverly Goodman in Adult Swim's animated show Mr. Pickles since 2014. Mr. Pickles since 2014. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of model and actress Teri Shields (nee Schmon, 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). The mother of the couple was English, German, Scotch-Irish, and Welsh descent, while her father had English, French, Irish and Italian ancestry.According to the work of William Addams Reitwiesner, Shields has ancestral ties to a number of noble families from Italy particularly those from Genoa and Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi who was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her great-uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. Teri's family paid Frank the sum of money for her to terminate her pregnancy.
